Caryn Nuttall - Counsellor and Psychotherapist
What to look for in a counsellor/psychotherapist
I appreciate that taking the first step to seek counselling can be daunting.
As I have already mentioned, research shows that the single most significant factor in predicting the outcome
of therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. To be able to trust
and confide in the therapist, it is vital for the client to have a sense of safety
and to feel comfortable. A good way to start is by picking up the phone and speaking
to the therapist. In my case, if I am with a client when a prospective client calls,
I will tell you via my answer machine that I will return your call shortly.
This is confidential; you do not need a referral from a doctor or a psychiatrist to see a psychotherapist.
I am a full member of the Canadian College of Professional Counsellors & Psychotherapists (CCPCP) and work to their code of ethics.
$200 a session
Please note I have always made a point of offering reduced fees if needed, and am very happy to discuss this
Can the cost of counselling be covered by my medical insurance?
I suggest you contact your insurance providers to find your coverage.
To help me run my practice efficiently and fairly, I will need to
charge the full fee for appointments missed or cancelled with less
than 24 hours notice, apart from in exceptional circumstances.
This allows me to assure availability for your next appointment.
My practice is downtown in Mount Royal with easy parking.
