Blue Yonder

Blue Yonder is a painting of an old man and his dog sitting on a rock in a quiet moment of reflection.Their view is of rolling fields stretching toward distant hills painted in hushed greens, blues and soft earth tones. It was the first painting I did of the old man and his dog. I don’t know who they are having never met them nor seen their faces. I painted various breeds of dog sitting beside the old man but only the Golden Retriever felt the right match. They have become inseparable since I first painted them, and have subsequently appeared in several of my paintings - Hiraeth, Bluebell Woods, December at the Cabin, and When The Day’s Work is Done.
